Weekly Haul Report: From Ark to Everdrive

This last week in treasure hunting was very kind to us at SRB. While I wasn't able to hit many of my normal locations this past week, I did manage to make it by one garage sale and a local thrift store.  Both of which turned out to be harboring retro goodness. My first attack of the week was a local garage sale. The Craigslist add mentioned they had Nintendo games so I figured I would give it a shot. In all honesty though, when ads mention Nintendo games you really can't be sure what you are going to find once you get there (if anything at all). I once waited almost a week for a particular garage sale that stated they had "old Nintendo games", only to find out once I got there that they had a couple Leapfrog Leapster games....disappointing to say the least. Luckily this week I had a bit more luck than usual.

For a whopping 5 dollars I was able to pick these three games you see above. While I do enjoy Fighters Destiny and Forsaken for N64, they are by no means rare games. But the third game in the haul was a definite surprise. Super Noahs Ark 3D for SNES. Turns out that this game is quite rare, go figure. Considering its a bible spawned port of Wolfenstein 3D, I cant imagine many people lining up to grab this gem when it was released. After doing some research I saw that there are indeed new/fake reproductions of this cart available, fortunately this one is the original release from 1994 by Wisdom Tree.

After the garage sale excitement I decided to head over to a local thrift store. After searching pretty much the entire store I thought my luck had run out and I would be leaving with no treasure. That was until I spotted a small display case full of old electronics hiding behind the counter. Inside it was a small bundle of games including: Bomberman Party (PS1/Complete), Spyro: Season of Ice (GBA), Hamtaro: Ham Hams Unite (GBC), and an original Game Boy Advance with Gamestop light. I was able to snag this bundle for 10 dollars flat, not bad.

These next two items are carts I have had my eye on for a bit but for one reason or another never pulled the trigger on it. The first is a little known game for GBA called CT Special Forces 3: Bio Terror. It is essentially a metal slug clone with a few twists. Sadly this third installment was never released here in the US so I had to wait quite a while to find a really good deal on it from overseas.

The second online purchase I made was an Everdrive64 version 3.0 from krikzz. I always wanted an Everdrive for my N64 but due to the cost I never really felt like going through with the purchase. I finally manned up and spent the cash and boy was it worth it. Not only does it play pretty much every game you throw at it, it will also play a bunch of hacked/modded N64 games, allowing you to experience the N64 in ways never possible before. Well worth the money in my opinion.

That does it for last weeks haul. Thanks for reading and be sure to leave us a comment below if you stumbled upon any nice gaming grabs lately. We would love to hear about it!
